I donīt know where to post this so I post it here.
Thereīs a modified Virtual Dub called "VirtualDub_148_AC3",is not that better than the original one cause this one also supports AC3 sound.

Is there any bad thing with it compared to the original Virtual Dub cause the modified is just like the original except that it accept AC3 sound without needing to encode the AC3 sound to wave using headAC3he or other programs.Itīs just need to save it as normal wave using Virtual Dub
    but I am not sure
and if its just like Virtual Dub with the AC3 plugin than why does no one use that instead of needing encode AC3 sound with other tools?

Why dont you test it, and let us know ?

VdubAC3 lets you add AC3 using direct stream copy, it does not convert AC3 to uncompressed WAV using full processing mode.

Why don't you give it a try with my AC3 test file (First in list)

I tried to save the wave in "full processing mode" but that didnt work and when saving "direct stream copy" and named it to I couldnīt get it work with real player and with WMP I could hear sound but it was not good at all,it sound terrible.

I also did the same thing with Virtual Dub and got same resultat.

Note:I saved my wav in direct stream naming my wav to sound so windows recognised it as sound.wav

um, so that means its not good for what you thought it might be good for It can be used only to add an ac3 via streaming, no other use.

If thatīs only for saving .ac3 in direct stream, why use the modified one when the original do the exact same thing?
I still have to use headAC3he to convert the .ac3 to wave.

Well then I suppose the modified one didnīt do a shit.

    Um
The normal Vdub does not have any way to "Add" AC3

Select Audio > WAV or AC3
That is not in the normal Vdub...

You might be encoding to DivX and want to encode the audio as .mp3 from an .ac3 source.

Or, you might want to interleave an .ac3 source with a DivX video source.

Sometimes when you make a 2-disc DivX from a DVD you might want to use the Dolby Digital sound from the DVD. To do this you would encode the video deparately, and then interleave with the .ac3 audio extracted from the DVD.
