I have read this forum from top to bottom and read and re-read the manual on the DMR-HS2 and I can't figure out how to do this. I am guessing it is impossible.
I would like to be able to tape a concert to DVD-R from a VHS tape and have each song have it's own menu item. (just like a store bought concert DVD)
Now, I know this is possible if I divide the program between every song, but then the concert won't flow from song to song. (there will be an actual gap)
Also, is there any way to get your markers to copy over to the DVD-R? If there was, I could at least put a marker between the songs like on a CD-R.
Thanks

You can use markers on the DVD-R as long as you don't finalize the DVD-R. Unfortunately, once it's finalized, you lose the markers and can't "mark" the locations again.
If you divide the concert into songs (in order), you could title each program segment. Regardless of which program you selected from the "main menu", the rest of the DVD would play forward from that point. I'm not sure how big a "gap" would be created but it is definitely the only way to get the song titles "navigable" from the main menu.
When you finalize the disk, "chapters" will be automatically inserted at approximately 5-minute intervals, whether you want them or not.
