Hi, I have just bought a Sony DRW-U10a DVD Writer and all was going well until I put in a DVD-RW disc. The machine stopped responding and I could not get it our of the drive. Not only that but I cannot get anyt power to the drive at all and it is no longer recognised in the BIOS. I have tried switching power leads, ide cables and auto recognition in the BIOS but nothing works. I have since got the disc out via the emergency eject but still cannot get any power to the unit.
Does anyone have any idea why this could happen and if I can resolve it myself without the hassle of sending it back etc
I welcome your views
Cheers
David

Oh dear ! Looks like you will have to send it back to have it replaced (not fixed).
