  1. Okay, this seems like a very simple problem, but I'm at a loss. I've got two seperate m2v files that I need joined into a single m2v file that I can use in Spruce. I can't seem to make this happen.

I tried joining them through TMPG tools, both in the Merge section and in the Multiplex section. In both cases, Spruce will go through the importing, but it won't show the video upon completion (so there's nothing there in the movies box). I tried merging the two files with FileMerger, and Spruce will import that clip, but it will show it only as the first part (as though they were neverr merged and I just imported the first part).

I'm at a loss - can anyone walk me through a method of m2v joining that will please Spruce?

    Thanks!!!

  2. I have joined 2 video files with TMPGENC and imported them into Spruceup with out the problem you are having so we know this can be done. are you importing just the video and letting spruceup get the audio or are you muliplexing the files before importing them?

  3. Can't speak for Spruce, but I have noticed a problem joining mpeg files in TMPEng. A few times I've joined several files using Merge&Cut, and produced an MPEG file that works. But then I've used TMPEng's demultiplex to extract the .m2v, and that cuts off the end. Doing the demultiplex with XMuxer does the trick, and then I use TMPEng to remultiplex again later. Maybe that helps.

Are you advocating the splitting of audio and video before running Spruce? I have never tried that. Now I can't wait to get home and try it on my uncooperative MPEG movie...

  5. YEs, when i use spruceup i just add the m2v file and spruceup automatically gets the audio. Just make sure you name the audio the same as the video. movie.m2v and then name the audio movie.ac3, so that they have the same name.
    Good Luck

    Thank you Sunmiztres
Now: the audio file I demuxed, has an mp2 extension. Do you happen to know whether Spruce will recognize that file type? In other words: my files would be

    movie.m2v or movie.d2v
    and
    movie.mp2

Will that work? Sorry for the 20-questions, but I'm not on my home system at the moment and I'm trying to hit the ground running when I get home, as I've been battling with this problem for several days now...

  7. just rename your movie.mp2 to movie.ac3, this will let spruce pick it up. i have done this many times and it works great.
