  1. hi i keep getting this error when i load some avi file i have decompressed the audio then put the video and the decompressed audio in to TMPGEnc
    then the audio is out of sinc to the end of my movie
    how do i recompress the decompressed audio to the 138.1 bitrate it say or any other tips to corect audio sync errors

  2. Why can't you simply feed TMPGEnc with the original compressed file? TMPGEnc will read virtually anything which Windows Media Player can.

  3. yes it does read alot but no .AC3 audio

  4. What kind of avi file has AC3 audio? What are you shooting for, DVD, SVCD, .... ? What did you use to demux the audio?

  5. a) the avi file has ac3 audio and its a movie
    b) shootin for DVD
    c) i use the vutual dub to extract the audio then i use azid to normalize the audio
    then what i was trying to do was load the video sorce in to TMPGEnc and the normalized audio and encode it to DVD but when i get my finished file the audio is out of sync with thw video at the end at the satrt its fine
    please help doing my head in loads

  6. a) Sorry bad question on my part. What type of codec is used for the avi? mpeg, divx, dv, etc. Avi and movie are generic things. Knowing if it's an mpeg2 file from a capture could be helpful. In that case, many people have sync problems if they demux, edit, etc.

    b) Is the sound really off? DVDs tend to have a greater range. AC3 is what you need for dvd so do you need to mess with it?

    Sorry, but I'm not really clear what your source is. Audio sync could be due to a frame rate change, padding in a capture, a simple delay.

    Also, knowing if there is a constant lag or if it progressively gets worse. A constant lag is easy to fix with a delay.

    I am no expert in this, but you can find tons of stuff if you search the forums for audio sync. Maybe there is some info that matches your case.
