Could you clarify what you want to know, please?
In two-pass encoding, the first pass just goes through the video and analyses it by "pretending" to encode it. It creates a small log file with details about the video and how it would have compressed it. The second pass actually creates the video, referring back to the results of the first pass in order to more efficiently distribute the bitrate (data allocated to compressing the video). It also helps it when there are scene changes - it isn't taken by surprise.
So, you should set your bitrate the same for both passes. You could set the first pass to be a fast encode and the second to be high quality. What software are you using? -
Have a look at this program that does this easily.

I use flaskmpeg. I encoded with divx 6.1 codec first with all the sets at the maximum and then i reencoded the avi with xvid codec second pass and it really good over 690 Mb with 192 Kbps for the audio. The video is near 1000 Kbps. I want to ask something, did you ever heard of compressavi a software that takes the normals scenes with low bitrate and the actions scenes with the high bitrate and combine both in one. I have the soft but its a dos application and it stops as i click on.
On what i asked in this post i wanted to know about the size. If i put a quality for 2 cds of sizes in the first pass, will the second pass reduce the size with two times less. It reduces near like i saw.
Thanks -

Could you please cite the guide or explain a bit. It will be absolutely wonderful. I am trying many programs, like AutoGK, FairUse Wizard, avi.net, Dr DivX, DivX converter, so far no luck.
Your help is most appreciated. -

Lets see what HeyMrYoshu has to say.
May be I can cut down duration of video from 130mins to 100 mins, standard hollywood movie duration.
I know for sure that you can work it out using Nandub but I have no clue how to work with this one. I have never got along with VirtualDub and read that Nandub is hack of virtualdub so it must be somewhat similar. I guess I just need step by step guide. (I know there are hundreds of guides on the web but I haven't got along with themMay be I am missing something basic!!
