    on a movie a friend gave me in avi format when I view it it is in widescreen. Is there a way to change the aspect of the movie swo it looks normal?

    Widescreen is normal.

    Do you mean that you want it in pan & scan (fullscreen)?
    Are you going to convert the video or just play on your computer???
