  1. Is there a way to get an exact copy of a DVD9 movie to 2DVDRs using Decrypter and IfoEdit?

Since I'm getting up to replace the 2d DVD on my standalone dvd player I want to keep everything that the original DVD has.

I have decrypted the whole movie to hard drive but I noticed that sometimes the features on the menu of the standalone dvd player do not work. Like selecting DTS audio in stead of dolby digital or sometimes just pressing enter or play on the remote control to view the movie does not work. The dvd player just chokes and doesn't do anything. However, when I have edited the movie in IfoEdit to have the movie to start inmediately, the movie plays just fine.

Does editing the movie to start at title 1 (bypassing the menu) ruin the way menu functions work?

  4. Don't touch dvdxcopy with a 10 foot pole... use the two applications you suggested and you can do it all yourself. Use my guides (url in sig)

  5. Judgmentday or judgementday...

There is a way to do that and that is what I have been doing as I don't think re-encoding is worth it. It takes way too much time and you have to deal with tons more applications and also audio and subs needs to be recompiled and it's a pain for me.

I have posted on another thread my way of doing this and you can follow this:

Or you can also go to the guide at www.doom9.org. Also in the thread above I have the link to that.

Let me know if you have any questions as I've been playing around with this method for about a week now.

Ok.. I did play around a little bit with the re-encoding so I can fit the movies that are a 'little' bit bigger than 4.3 GB into a DVD-R even after stripping all the unnecessary audio and subs. This method is simply to just re-encode ONE of the VOB files to a lower bitrate as opposed to doing this for all of the VOB files which can be a nightmare in terms of the hours it would take. I use VOBRator to demux the video, audio, and sub. Use TMPGEnc to re-encode at lower 2-pass variable bitrate. Once done, I use Scenarist to mux everything together to make a VOB file. I had trouble with audio synch at this point so I'm still testing. Had anyone tried this before and is there anything wrong in doing this?

Have fun and let me know how it goes...
