  1. Everything seems to work great except burning the VOBs to disk, Nero gave me a disk error and the guide says not to use Nero. I tried Record Now, but it says that it can't find a drive(Sony DRU-500a). I updated the latest firmare from Sony and I can't find an update for Record Now. Is there something better to use or how can I get one of these to work? Thanks

  2. Hi jimbobnewbie,

You could download the update for RecordNow DX 4.6 from :-
    http://dl1.easy.co.jp/rndx46_e/sonyos/regist2.html

After updating your software, hopefully you should be able to see your SONY drive.

I had the same problem kinda, I use recordnow Max, not the one that cam with the drive, mostly because I already had it, It worked fine for a month than one day it just did as u say I started it and it said no recordable drive, I downloaded the new engine from the site and it works again, only thing it can be is a driver on your system that is not letting it load the drivers it needs. This is just my thoughts, but it happens a lot with software, With out doing a clean install and then loading it first really do not know, mabey load a dual boot and try it that way with just it loaded, might work then u can load your other software until u find the other one causeing your problem. Well wish I could be more help, Then again it could be a MB Bios problem. Are u using the program that came with it. and do u have DLA and nero loaded.

You can try checking inside your computer and see if everything is connected properly. Other hardware could be conflicting with the drive.

you can see if there are any software conflicts with the drive (irq information)

You can try reinstalling windows. I find this to help hen drastic measures need to be taken.
