  1. I capture video with my aiw 8500. When I try capturing to divx directly, it produces horrible results with interlacing and blocky pictures. I tried the filters, but it didn't help. I now capture in mpeg2 in 640x480 resolution then convert to divx using virtual dub.
Or is there a way to capture directly to divx with good results. I've already checked the guides on vcdhelp and the only ones that can convert to mpeg2 to divx is with virtual dub.

I've also tried capturing to mpeg1 but the produces blocky results.

The series episodes are 42 min long. I was wondering if there was anyway to fit 2 epsiodes a to one 80min cd to create a VCD without overburn? The VCR I have is mono sound so I if convert to vcd using mono sound, will that let me fit more than 80 min of video?

You need to experiment with all the divx codecs if you want to capture to DivX. A lot of people capture to the huffy codec and compress later

If you change any of the settings in an mpeg 1, it will no longer be compliant, and you will end up with an XVCD, which your DVD player may not play. If anything try to cut a little out of each to fit on once CD
