I've tried searching but can't find the exact answers I'm looking for.
I have several ts files that are HD streams taken from my cable box. What format should I convert these to in order to get the best quality per GB and that I can stream over the network...say to an xbox 360?
What I would like to do is that these ts streams (ranging from 10GB to 20GB) and convert them down to a size that will fit on a dvd 9 so that I can archive them on a DVD. However, I won't be playing them on a DVD player but streaming them to an xbox 360 or maybe apple tv in the future.
In the past I've used hdtvtodvd to encode them down but I'm not sure I'm getting the best quality that way. I was thinking possibly some type of mp4. I will also need to know what software tools are best for the conversion.
Thanks so much for your advice.
