I have 2 questions about forty-two.
#1. If you put your computer to sleep overnight while forty-two is at work, will that hault or harm the process in any way ?
#2. Does the DVD spin for the entire time while forty-two is working ? I am worried about the drive life of my superdrive should I worry ?

Sleep mode shouldn't hurt your encoding, but Kai or Bile will be better to answer that question. I leave my machine processing every night, with sleep mode set, and I haven't had any problems yet. You can also leave the program encoding behind other processes without a problem. I run photoshop and other high end graphics programs all day and encode behind them without a problem.
42 only uses the dvd drive long enought to rip of a high quality divx file. It then spits out the disk and continues the process using the file. Very little wear on the drive. I thank Kai and Bile very much for this (as well as the program itself - it is a godsend). My drive gets enough wear as it is.- Elreeko
