  1. i join the to files with virtualdub but it won't let me actually do the dubbing process an error occurs.

Cannot ammend segment: the audio streams have different sampling rates(17028.00000 vs 16834.00000)

  2. Try with nandub instead, and see what happens?

  3. The way I have got round this problem in the past.

Set video to direct stream copy, set audio to full processing mode, no compression.

Then save as new avi. The file will be saved using the same video codec, but the audio streams will now be uncompressed. This will create fairly large files buy you should now be able to join them. If you are goin to encode this is a bonus, no need to save out seperate wav files, if you want to keep as xvid you can always save again and apply an audio compression codec.

Do you think it will work if he do like you say but also save the sampling rates both the movies to 44100Hz?

In VDUB force the Audio to 44100Hz before doing the direct stream copy. You see this in TV caps all the time.

Direct Stream copy the video. Full process the audio, force the bitrate, use integral conversion, and use PCM as the codec. Same speed as direct stream copying them both.

Open the first(new) file, then append the second(new) file. Direct stream copy for video codec, for audio, pick your poison (mp3 typically) and full process. Save. Again, nearly as fast as direct stream copying both. All you are doing is messing with the audio.
