  1. I have a movie that I downloaded.

When I look at the properties for it, it says it is a video clip.
In the title it has DVDivx.
    Audio format is MPEG-3
And video compression says Divx codec.

I assume this is a Divx film that was ripped from a dvd due to the excellent quality of it.

What I am wanting to do is convert it so that I can burn it on DVD-R's and watch it on my dvd players.

I want it to be the best quality possible.

I used VDUB mp3 and it only gave me a 502kb wav file.

I split the file into 2 identical size files.

Just tried reencoding under TMPGEnc, and it didn't give me any sound. I assume this is because the wav file wasn't correct since it is so small. But it looked ok, just no sound.

Any idea what I may have done wrong??? I am pretty sure I followed the King's guide pretty much too the letter on using VDUB and also the guide for converting to dvd with TMPGEnc.

I know my main problem was the audio, but I am wanting to make sure I do the rest of the process correctly.

Thanks for any help and suggestions!!!!!!!!

  2. hey slug guy, i'll show how to have sound in ur movie
first in virtualdub go to file and load up ur avi file and once u have done that go back to the file option and click on save wav. save it to whatever u want to. once u hit save it should start the encoding process which on my old pc takes a few minutes. once its done u should have a 700mb file give or take. now all u have to do is load it up in the audio source in tmpge and u should be fine

    happy encoding!!!!
