Here is my problem:
When I try to convert a DIVX movie to VCD using TMPGE the audio either comes out all messed up or there is no sound at all. Someone suggested that I should extract the audio to a Wave file using VirtualDub then use the Wave as the audio source in TMPGE. However, when I try this the Wave file ends up being about 10 seconds shorter than the video and when I encode with TMPGE the audio and video is still out of sync. Under the advanced settings in TMPGE there is an audio gap correction tool but I'm sure it is difficult to correct the sync problems accurately. If anyone knows how to correct audio sync problems effeciently when converting from DIVX to VCD please post a solution.

Before you start encoding your avi..... scan it for bad frames. To do that I use Vdub Mp3; look at the "tools" section on this site.
