I knew it wouldn't be long before my new interest in HD material would expand into the audio extracting realm.
Among other tracks, my latest BD contains an "English: DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 (48kHz, 24-bit)" stream.
From what I've read, sometimes you'll see 7.1 listed when essentially there are still only 6 channels. However, Mediainfo did indeed report:
Now, there seems to be a lot of confusion as to how to extract all 8 channels to 8 individual WAVs. Has a relatively simple solution been found yet?Code:Audio #1 ID : 4352 (0x1100) Menu ID : 1 (0x1) Format : DTS Format/Info : Digital Theater Systems Format profile : MA / Core Muxing mode : Stream extension Codec ID : 134 Duration : 1h 31mn Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 2 251 Kbps / 1 510 Kbps Channel(s) : 8 channels / 6 channels Channel positions : Front: L C R, Side: L R, Back: L R, LFE / Front: L C R, Side: L R, LFE Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Bit depth : 24 bits Compression mode : Lossless / Lossy
Can someone give me at least a starting point, if not a full explanation of how to get the results I'm looking for?
The only tools I have that might help are BeLight, BeSweet, Clown BD. I've left out those others that have nothing to do with DTS audio, to my knowledge.
Thanks all![]()

This is one of the reasons why I'm not sure how to approach this:

But, I'm trying anyway. -
Okay,
To my surprise I did manage to extract the audio to a single interleaved WAV that did contain all 8 channels. However, when opening in Audition, it's reported that the file will be truncated and only opens around 29 minutes. I'm assuming (hoping) that a simple change in command-line parameters will extract the 8 channels to individual WAVs? -
Wow.
I hate to admit my idiocy but for the sake of those that might find this page archived in the future when wondering the same as I was, the answer is to simply type the plural ".wavs" rather than the singular ".wav" in the command line.
