I have recently started to author DVD's and noticed a couple of issues both related to time display. First issue related to length of time of a rip and second time display during the viewing of a DVD authored from a rip. I have been capturing Satellite video using a Canopus ADVC-100/Raptor setup for a while now. Just recently capturing and authoring DVDs using Infoedit. DVD's look great and display of time during viewing is correct along with time length display of finished DVD. I am seeing an issue relating to the ripping of DVD's and authoring of them. I am ripping the DVD's, extracting video and an AC3 soundtrack. I am also grabbing the chapters. I am using InfoEdit to author the DVDs. The DVD's of which I have burned to date look great picturewise with no freezing etc. I can also jump from one chapter to another with no issues. What I am seeing though is odd. If I look at the total time display of the finished DVD it is always shorter than the original. (playback timeframe though is correct and I am not missing anything). When using display (for time during viewing) I noticed that display is not accurate stopping and starting during the viewing of the entire DVD. I am curious what could be causing this issue? My videos look fine playing back on 5 different DVD players (Pioneer, Sony, Panasonic, Raite and Apex). Any ideas?
