  1. Im having a reaccuring problem with my pioneer ao4, when I try to burn a dvd iso or dvd data disc, it stops burning or i get a communication fault, i can't seem to fiqure it out, I have tried with Nero and PrimoDVD both seem to get the same problem, I even installed the newest driver off the pioneer site, tried different media and put the burner on its own ide cable, but no luck, has anyone had this problem and can help me out here, im losing my hair, what little I have. Thanks inadvance

  2. Yea, i had the same problem, tried pio transfer mode,but no luck, had to send it in to pioneer.

  6. Try using an old school 40-pin IDE cable. My drive was doing the same
    thing until I took out my Ultra100 ATA controller and hooked everything
    up with 40-pin ribbon cables. I also am using the new Nero 5599. You
    can download a demo for 30-day use from Ahead.com. Good Luck!! J.

  7. Also, If you have an AMD/VIA chipset on your motherboard, you will
    probably need to turn off UDMA to that drive and set it to Pio4. Doing
    that along with the 40-pin IDE cable should do it. It worked for me.

  8. Well i finally got my new drive, took a little over a month.The old drive was bad,hope this isn't a common problem with these drives.

  10. yea the new one works great, i burnt a bunch of dvd's , also running in dma mode .

    I finally got my drive back, I guess with the holidays and all it took awhile, what driver version are u using?
