When I capture an Avi in 720x480 in either Windows Movie Maker or Showbiz when I play the clip it play as 1/3 size. If I capture Mpeg2 at 720x480 it plays normal size . I cant figure it out.

  2. If your AVI is using DV codec its because the Microsoft DV DirectShow filter defaults to playing back the file at quarter size (about 320x240).
I believe you can change the default to playback at full size (720x480) in the preferences or properties in Windows Media Player.

  3. Yes, select best quality in the Mediaplayers settings. The default settings are medium.
