  1. A few quick questions on getting rid of this virus.
    1. If i wipe my HD will the virus go away?

    2. If I wipe my HD, will i be able to reinstall windows 98.

    3. I have cable broadband, will i need my cable company to give me the information on resetting my connection?

    4. i've tried to delete this file but it says it's being used by windows, how do I change which files are "needed" to run windows ans which files must run at startup?

    5. will all my hardware be recognized when windows 98 first starts up so i can install all other hardware drivers from my CD drives (most importantly the CDRW and CD-ROM drives)

How do you know it is a virus?? Hopefully it wasnt some bogus email you received saying file xxx is a virus and if you search for it and find it you should delete it.

If it truly is a virus why not use an antivirus program like norton antvirus and let it deal with it.
