    I have a dvd which plays fine on a standalone but wont play on a PC. Any idea why??

    The dvd drive in the PC is about 2 years old.

    It might be that the laser on your DVD-ROM ran out.

  3. You have to tell us what is exactly "doesn't play". Does the drive see the disc? Is it just a region problem? It's hard to say why "something" isn't going right.

    AND do you have a DVD playing program, AND is it hacked to play any region

    ok, it doesnt see the disc. Dvd genie is running fine. Seems the player wont run a DVD +RW or DVD +R yet runs normal dvds fine. Guess I need to go to PC world to get a new DVD ROM that reads DVD + and - discs?
