  1. im downloading a vcd, the movie is in bin and the cue file is like 12kbs. i dont wanna burn it onto a CD. I wanted to know if it were possible to just change the bin to .mpg and play it with Media player? And do I need to download the cue file also?

  2. You'll have to download both bin and cue file. You cannot play the VCD by renaming the bin file to .mpg. If you want to check the image before burning it to CD try mounting it. Download and install the Daemon tools (in the tools section on the left). There is good documentation on the Daemon tools website. This software creates a "virtual CD-ROM drive" on your PC which can mount CD images. That way you can use these images just like you burned them to CD.
Another tool you might want to try is VCDGear. This lets you extract the mpg from the image or from a CD.

  3. As what willem said.

Just a minor addition. You can also use vcdxrip (a tool in VCDImager) to extract all the files off a VCD CUE/BIN image (actually you just need the bin file for this) and write an XML descriptor file of the structure.

  4. vcdgear is great for extracting mpgz from bin images (just uncheck both boxez).
To extract mpg from binz without a cue sheet u can also use isoBUSTER , workz great and it will do extractions from non-mpg bin (e.g data filez, rar'd or say game images)
