  1. i have a studio vcd capture card.
    now the vhs tape being 3d infomation will only be available if I use 640*486 ....... I have tried to use the software supplied but no value.
    i have tried ti use videodup can alter the settings but cant capture over 352*240 ... help
    what software will get this card to capture ... either avi or mpg2

  2. The fact that the name of the card has VCD in it kind of tells me something. Since NTSC VCD resolution is 352 x 240 Mpeg1 I would say that is what you are limited to.

    also your 3d tape will become usless being captured on mpeg1 .... as mpeg1 is progressive and your 3d info is stored on alternate fields ...

  4. A very long time ago (? 1 year) someone was trying to do exactly the same thing (3D info on alternate fields -- convert to VCD). As BJ_M just stated, you cannot do this with MPEG-1 as it only supports progessive frames.

    You may need a better capture card (that can capture full frame and both fields) and then convert to interlaced MPEG-2 and create a SVCD.
