I bought the I/O magic tv tuner card during the summer and have been having a problem with it ever since. Every time I recorded with the PowerVCR software it came with it would lock up my computer with in minutes no matter what the recording settings were. I then decided to use iuVCR and I can get it to record for about 20 minutes before it locks up my computer. The same for most other programs. I also had all other programs, including virus scan, turned off to free up processing. I have been wondering if this is a problem with the card itself or if my computer doesn't meet some requirement.
My PC specs are:
Athlon 800mhz
Chain Tech motherboard
384 mb sdram
Windows XP (no service pack)
30 gb harddrive 5400 rpm
cdrw+cd drives
xtasy geforce 3 ti 200
I/O magic tv tuner
As far as i have read on the web my computer is well over equip to record, but it locks up and gets really annoying. I am considering giving up this card and getting the ASUS one if nothing i can do will help the problem get fixed.
Thanks for any and all help.![]()

Tarent03,
You might be running out of hard drive space. You might want to check to see how much free space you have, and might even consider a second hard drive. Hope this helps.

I don't have it in my computer anymore because my friend needed a new one so i let him borrow it. I have about 25 gb let on my harddrive. But thanks for the suggestion.
