  1. Hi, I have a movie about an hour and a half long in avi format which is only 450 mb. Is there a way I can fit that onto one vcd? when I try to create in nero, it creates a vcd that goes to 900 mb. Thanks,

    John

just lower the bitrate a bit. or you can take a shot at kwag's templates that will give you good quality.

The VCD specification has a fixed video bitrate of 1150kbits/sec. it does not allow for any other video bitrate. 1150Kbits/sec equates to approx 80 minutes of play time on an 80 minute/700 meg mode-1 disk.

Be advised if you do lower the bitrate you are making an XVCD and it "may" not play on some VCD players. Also, if you burn using Nero (with a lower bitrate), you will have to turn off compliance checks otherwise Nero will try to re-encode to the standard VCD bitrate. That being said, if you decide to go with one of Kwag's templates(he is the guy who runs kvcd.net) I would suggest you try the LBR template. That is my favorite for VCD "resolutions".

yeah, forgot to mention that xvcd thing. however, i think most dvd players that play vcd will also play xvcd.
