  1. I have an avi file that I would like to convert to MPEG-1, I am using the latest copy of tmpgen which is 12J. When I try to open the file, it says that the file is not supported even thought it is an avi file. The file plays fine in media player 7.1. Any ideas? Please let reply, as I would like to burn this into a vcd.

    Thank you!

  2. Try using avi2vcd. if it says that the audio is compressed then u can use the decompress program that comes with avi2vcd. i had a similar problem like yours and this worked for me.

    Could not open source file!
You may not have a codec or Direct show filter installed for this type of video!

Yet the file plays fine on media player 7.1.

I really need to convert this file. please help.
