  1. I just bought a Philips DVD 724 from my local Wal-Mart and the player seems great. It played all of my SVCD's and seems pretty good with my DVD's too. The problem is that on almost all of my movies I have tried so far, only about 5, there are these annoying little colored blocks that will pop up from time to time. Do any of you have any suggestions on a setting to change or should I take this one back and get another one? I thought at first that it was just my SVCD's, but it did it on my Top Gun DVD that is in great condition. It is not real common, but it does seem to happen to every disc. Thanks for any help.

I suggest you take it back and get another, especially since it is doing it with DVDs also. I have the same player and I have played at least ten different DVDs and over twenty different VCDs, CVDs or SVCDs and not seen this problem.

  3. Thanks for the help. It has been getting the audio and video out of sync even on DVD's if you do certain things. I paused the player and changed the brightness using the player and the thing got out of sync. So I figure that taking the disc out and letting it reload would fix it. Wrong. Then I turned the player off and took the disc out and tried it again and it did the same thing. Good thing is I work at Wal-Mart (we currently only have a display model) and we have another supercenter in town that I bought this player from (they had 3 other players, but I hate going to that store), so I should be able to find this player at one of the two before the 90 days is up.
