  1. I have had some problems with certain movies and I have found out that it is because the movies I have had problems with have multiple angles. It seems like IFOEdit doesn't always allow you to choose to keep the angle you want when you strip that parts you want to keep. So I have to figure out another way to rip/strip multiple angle movies like Halloween Resurrection and Remember the Titans, etc. I figure I can just strip with the enable stream processing function in DVDDecryptor or SmartRipper and use the "demux" in Decryptor or the "demux to extra file" in Smartripper and then I will have my .AC3 and .M2V files ready for authoring. I have already figured out that DVD2DVDR detects multiple angle movies and allows you to select which angle you want to keep. The problem is that I will have to use ChapterXtractor, Subrip, and Maestro for my chapters, subtitles, and authoring.

I would think I could just strip and demux with Decryptor, and then create new Ifo's with IFOEdit. My question though, would be how can I do this? I have not used Decryptor or Smartripper to Strip a movie, I have only used IFOEdit for main movie files that will fit on a DVD+R. I did test it once and I know that I will have a .AC3 and a .M2V file, along with a ton of vobs, and probably the movies "original" IFO file for the main VOB set, but with this, can I create new IFO's that would work with the newly stripped files? Thanks in advance for any help with this.

If you have an .m2v and ac3 file you from stream ripping you won't have any vob's. You have the smallest files possible if you have m2v/ac3. You may need to transcode the m2v,but your ready to author. You only need Ifoedit if you want to use it's authoring function.

  3. @Wulf, thx for the info. I am just curious as to what options I select in IFOEdit to author the .AC3 and .M2V files to get new IFO's. I realized that the problems I am having with certain movies was due to IFOEdit not recognizing multiple angle movies. At least not allowing me to keep the angle I want, and as a result, my output after stripping was showing BOTH angles almost simultaneously, causing a skipping to occur. At any rate, I'm figuring that even with this method, it won't make much of a difference, because if I add the .M2V file, I still probably won't be able to choose a particular angle. I wonder why IFOEdit allows you to choose to keep a certain angle in some movies, but in others, it shows you the different angles, but you can't select one to keep. Must be a bug in IFOEdit. I've used other tools to accomplish multi angle movies though, so it isn't that big of a deal. I guess until the bug is fixed, I will have to resort to other methods.

DVD Decrypter allows you to select which angle to rip in it's ifo(movie) mode. It will select angle1 by default. Smartripper does it also.

  5. That's right! Thanks..I do remember DVD Decryptor giving me an option of the angle I wanted to keep under the main movie PGC. I have one question for you though, what is the best option for backing up a movie that will fit on a blank DVD+R.... SMART RIPPER BACK UP MODE? SELECTING ALL FILES IN DVD DECRYPTOR'S FILE MODE. OR DVD DECRYPTOR ISO MODE FOR AN IMAGE AND A BURN? Any difference on any of the three?

    Hi All,

I tried to Author a DVD in IFOEDit after ripping using Stream Demux in DVDDEcryptor but output video is jumping. I open the .m2v, created by DVDDecryptor, and looks ok, but the video in the .vob files in not.

    Any help?

    Regards,

    Jose

  8. I ripped Halloween Resurrection using one of the guides I found. When I play it in my Standalone DVD player, I get the little angle symbol in the corner. I came to this site to find out how to remove the other angles or keep the one angle.

I tried wulf109 suggestions with DVD Decrypter, but after the rip my first .vob file is only 984MB. The next two .vob files are the full 1,***MB. This seems to cause a problem when I test it using Power DVD.

I haven't tried SmartRipper yet, but I was wondering if I did something wrong with DVD Decrypter!

    TIA
