I know that I have the xvid codec cause I installed it separat from Nimo Pack but still when I try to see a xvidmovie itīs still green and the rest is really fucked up!
But when I open it up in Virtual Dub then the picture is normal.

The only way for me to watch a xvidmovie is to open it up in Virtual Dub and compress it,the strange is that I can compress it to xvid and still be able to watch it like a normal movie but if I donīt compress it and just open up the xvidmovie then itīs fucked.

I have also tried to framserve direct to TMPGEnc with the name mymovie.vdr but there i canīt open it cause itīs says that it canīt be open or is unsupported and I have tried changing the enviromental settings in this guide.

  2. Have the same problem totally and done all the same checks .. I have a certain movie with XVID and ac3 ... I can not play this .. the only way I have been able to put this on CD (as a VCD is) ..

Put the movie in Virtual DUB and save the audio to something like "audio.wav.ac3!" .... then change to a WAV in AZID .. ...

Then I have used Virtual DUB to act as a server ...... but remember that the file name of the steam must be something like "server.vbr.avi" .. do not leave the avi off .!!

Then use TMPGENc to get the video (from "server.vbr.avi) and the audio from the WAV created above ....

    It works ...

BUT PEOPLE !!! .. please explain to us all why if we have the codecs that we can not play these XVID (ac3) movies !!!!

I know how to solve the AC3 problem but my problem is frameserving it.
I have tried to save the frameserving in Virtual Dub with mymovie.vdr.avi , mymovie.vdr and mymovie.vbr.avi

  5. I had the same problem, all ya have to do is open the AviC.exe that comes with the xvid codec install, input the movie and change both codecs from the drop boxes from xvid to plain divx. It'll then play like a normal movie.

No,It doesnīt play like a normal movie but now I can at least encode it to mpg so I can burn it to vcd without using compression with Virtual Dub but there is one problem remaining,I canīt frameserve it with Virtual Dub so I cannot add subtitles.

NOW I know the solution to this shit.
I uninstalled all DivX codecs and xvid codecs. Then I Installed only xvid to test if it worked and it did but with no sound cause it had ac3 sound.
You can install xvid codecs from here:
    http://www.divx-digest.com/software/xvid.html

Then I installed all DivX codecs separat (Not from Nimo).
    http://www.divx-digest.com/software/divxcodec.html

After that I installed Nimo Pack but unchecked all divx codecs and the xvid codec and also uncheck a direct show filter which is Ffdshow DirectShow 2002-04-19. Install Nimo from here:
    http://www.btinternet.com/~nimosiro/

    Now all should work fine!
By the way,AC3 comes with Nimo Pack.
