I have a divx file that I transcoded to DVD MPEG with Tmpgenc using the KVCD DVD1 template. The original file was in widescreen 640x252 (or 2xx something), and I had the settings in Tmpg to "Keep Aspect Ratio". When I authored the DVD with DVD Workshop, and burnt it with DVD Workshop, the movie played on my Pioneer 444 player, and looked perfect when my TV Dispaly was set to "4x3". If I changed the TV Setting to 16x9, the picture changed as well, and stretched from top to bottom, removing some of the letterbox borders from top and bottom.
Now, I took the same Tmpgenc produced MPG and authored it with Spruce Up, I then burned the resultant Video_TS/Audio_TS folders with NERO, UDF 1.02. When I did this, the disk would not keep the thin letterbox format regardless of TV Setting. If the TV display was set to "4x3" it would STILL look sretched, "16x9" had the exact same look.
What changed from one Authoring prog to another that affected my Aspect Ratios?
Thanks.
