  1. I have a tape that has been converted from PAL to NTSC. When watching it on the VCR, there is no problem with playpack. However, when watching through my ATI AIW, the picture flickers to black screens about once per second. The flickers are very quick. My card does not support PAL, but the tape is NTSC. Could there be a problem with the framerate of the tape?

What can I do to properly capture this on my PC (without buying a new vid card)? Any ideas?

    Thanks!

when watching on the PC , the PC is non interlaced (progressive) and as such will show added fields from the conversion .
on a interlaced TV you wouldnt see this as the fields are interlaced to make a frame .....

well i suspect it is capturing it correct -- just that it looks rather bad on a pc ...

    this is fairly normal ...

if you played it right back from the pc to your tv it would look ok again ..

  5. it is being captured with the flickers encoded into the video. i burned it to vcd and played back through the standalone dvd player. flickers are still present. can i mess with the p and b frames? will that fix anything?
