STOP AND SKIP buttons on DVD player

Hi guys,
I tried looking for a solution to this problem and could not find it anywhere. The problem is that once I try playing my converted VCd file on my standalone DVD player SKIP button does not work. As well the STOP button basically restarts the movie instead of staying at a particular location.
In conversion I was basically following this tutorial http://www.vcdhelp.com/divxtovcd.htm#audio without doing anything else and burned my vcd with nero.
Thus my question is whether it's possible to make STOP and SKIP buttons work and how to do it.

check the guides for installing chapters it is on this site or do a search for chapterxtractor for vcds you cant use those buttons without installing chapters on your vcd...segboy :P
