Hi all, i recently got my Memorex dvd burner and i had all kinds of troubles finding a simple guide for a dummy like me. So finally i did one and it worked.. so i thought. I tried to burn Dudley do Right(just as a test) heres how...
I took dvd decrypter in file mode and i got the video_ts ifo and bup files etc, and the main movie files. I took the main movie .ifo into ifo edit and i stripped the extras via clicking on VOB extras and getting my sound and only ID's that it needs
I used NERO to burn it under UDF mode 1.02 and WHALA i had my dvd. My APEX 1010 is supposedly compatible with DVD+RW but it wouldnt play mine? Then i took it back to my computer and it didnt play with PowerDVD, BUT it DID play with windows media player, perfectly, started without menus and everything.
Am i doing something wrong that it wont play on my standalone player? Is it not compatible or am i most likely doing something wrong? Can anyone give me some insight. thanks

Did you press "Get VTS sectors" after you stripped all the extras and unnecessary VOB IDs/audio tracks/subs?
That would definitely cause incompatibility.

Yes i did hit "get VTS sectors" after i did everything
Do you think that could be my mistake? and if so it should work if i do it the other way? -
From what it seems, you did everything correctly. What type of media are you using? Also, I would ask someone about the Nero settings. It seems that sometimes Nero causes problems with DVDs. From what I read, there were a couple of problem versions of Nero, and a couple of settings that ended up screwing up disks.
I've gotta go, but I'll keep seeing what else could be the problem.

So are you saying that i should hit VTS sectors after or before i completley strip the whole movie. I am using the Memorex DVD+RW media that came with the dvd burner(Memorex DVD+R/RW 2.4X)

After you've stripped everything, you should have 2 IFO's (along with the other files [VOBs, BUPs, etc.]):
VIDEO_TS.ifo
VTS_01_0.ifo
Open up VIDEO_TS.ifo with IFOEdit, click "Get VTS sectors." You should get a couple of messages like "corrected..." Save VIDEO_TS.ifo, and close IFOEdit.
Re-open IFOEdit, load VTS_01_0.ifo. Click "Get VTS sectors." You may or may not get more messages. Save VTS_01_0.ifo, and close up IFOEdit. The title set should be compliant.
Gotta go. I'll check this topic again when I can. Hope this helps.
