I have a bin file (iso) that I want to convert to a svcd. When I run vcdXrip to get an xml, it starts and stops almost immediately. Then it leaves me with an empty folder which would normally contain the xml file.
I also tried to burn the file as an ISO 9660 cd, but the file is about 95 megs too large for a 700m cd.
I've run into this problem on one other occasion. Usually vcdXrip works perfectly on my bin files. Can anyone help me out? Thank you in advance...

I may be wrong but I think that vcdXrip is designed to get the .mpg out of a .bin file not a .xml file. So the output that you should be looking for is a .mpg which you would then need vcdXgen to get the .xml file and then vcdXbuild to get the .IMG files that you need to burn your SVCD.
Where did the .bin file come from ?

Thanks for responding, squeed.
VcdXrip does give you an mpeg file, but it also produces an xml file. The xml is then put into vcdxbuild for processing. The resulting img files are then burnt in toast under multitrack XA mode. I've used this system many times without any problems.
What's happening to me is that vcdXrip doesn't give me anything but an empty folder. It starts and stops almost immediately when, normally, it would take several minutes to complete.
Any ideas or suggestions? -
Are you using the command line vcdXrep or are you using the GUI with VCDToolsX ?
If you aren't using VCDToolsX you should because I have had not had the type of problem that you are referencing.

Have you tried extracting the mpeg with vcdgear (raw2mpg mode)? It doesn't give you an xml file, but maybe you can do without it? I use that method all the time, and create toast images from the mpegs with vcdbuilder.

xavierwatkins I had the same problem because I tried using Stuffit on the .rar file that extracted I from the .tar file I downloaded. I then tried Unrar 3.1 to build the bin and cue... and it worked perfect in VcdToolsX.
