Hi, im new here. I have just created a vcd from an divx avi file that i had (shrek...).
I converted the avi to an mpg using TMPGenc, in pal format. 352x288 (or whatever it is). FPS was 25 i believe.
After about 2hrs hard work my conversion was done. I split the file in half using tmpgencs mpeg tools, then burned it to cd using nero.
Nero came up with a little note saying it didnt comply to vcd standards (but according to tmpgenc it did), so i proceded with the burn.
I threw the newly formed cd into my dvd player and all was well. until around the last 10 minutes of each cd, when the play decides to pause for up to 30 seconds and then continue playback. this occurs at random intervals fairly frequently in the last 10 minutes, but the rest of the cd is fine.
Im using a fairly low grade CD-R, could this be it? or did i make a mistake when i converted the file?
I dont think its my dvd player, its brand new and plays every other medium fine.
Thanks for your help!
Poolius

This seems a bit strange. I have never experienced an mpeg1 created by TMPG that Nero has complained about.
I suggest what might have happened is during the cutting stage. Are you sure you chose type as MPEG-1(Video-CD)?
