I'm transfering our home movies from VHS tapes onto DVD disks to preserve them.

Whenever I do this, I need to make 3 duplicates for other family members.

After I've captured, authored and created the 1st DVD, isn't there a quicker way to make duplicates of it rather than going thru the "saved project" authoring process again? (that takes over an hour to process each time)

  2. I use recordnow max by Stomp Inc. It is an excellent piece of software. Once you have a completed DVD, place the DVD in the burner and run the software. Assuming you only have one DVD burner, you create a "Global Image" (one click of the mouse) which saves the image of the DVD on your hard drive. This does not take a long time. Once that is done, you can make as many copies of the DVD as you want. It is very easy and works great. I'm pretty sure they offer a free demo. www.stompinc.com Good Luck.

    thanks, Hojobey

I looked at that and the burning program looked pretty good, but I'm kind of looking for a simply duplicating utility. If I didn't already have EasyCD Creator and Nero, I might spend the $50 to get that one.

Is there a simple disk duplicating program out there that would work with DVDs?

  4. If you're using Nero on the burn tab change the number of copies from 1 to whatever number you want to make.

As soon as it makes the first it will ask you to put the next disk in.

  5. Making duplicates of dvd-rw or dvd+rw should be a piece of cake. Just use DVD Decrypter and it should be a 2 step process

    1) stick in DVD-R or DVD+R you want to backup ; in DVD Decrypter select mode ISO->READ and read entire DVD to HD

    2) stick in blank DVD-R or DVD+R and select mode ISO->WRITE

    and that's it!
