Hello folks. I have a little question. What do I use to make a home DVD? I tried this ConvertX but it's no good for me. I know for a fact that there is a quicker application out there. I burned movies to play on my home DVD player before. I used Sonic MyDVD 8. But it's very old and doesn't have as many features. There is version 11 out there, ONLY for sale (no trials). I tried this ConvertX, yes the DVD plays on my home DVD player, but it took 1h:30m to burn 1h:30m movie. Very kind of slow. My Sonic did it in no time. It didn't convert frame-by-frame the video. I'm looking for an application that will make that DVD viewable on my home DVD player also. And for it to burn it in much quicker time?? Thank you all for your help.

Looking at your computer specs, I assume "Athlon X1" means a single core Athlon? If so, then IME conversion will be pretty much a 1:1 ratio. BTDT on my old Athlon 3400+; the new Phenom machine is faster
Anyway, I'm sure some more experienced folks can point you toward something that might help, but the main thing I found was getting a faster computer.

Why must you be the only person who can't properly format his question?
What makes you think that using irritating fonts and colors will help you get any answers?
And, all this on your first post.ICBM target coordinates:

Do I have to convert and then burn?? I didn't need to do all of that with my Sonic

Sorry. Close caption is a different beast, never done that, hope someone will help you there. It encodes on Line21.
It may be easier to just set subtitles. You can switch them ON or OFF with remount or use force setting so they display automatically.
Not all software will allow you to do it. -
Well, as far as I understood, at least we solved the problem with burning and authorizing with a same app. Now this is a question. Anybody know anytihng about this??

Closed caption authoring extremely rare, even more so as a source, unless you are capturing. Since you have provided no information whatsoever about your source, I'll ignore that.
Subtitles are far more common, GuiforDVDAuthor works well for this. However, it may actually require some reading and a bit of effort
You need to get a better handle on the process first. -
