I recently accuired a video camera (SVC T-100) and it records in HD at a res. of 1280 x 720 in what i believe is the H.264 format. I downloaded the files to my computer and then had to download Ffdshow codec to view them. Works great!!! What i need to know is if there a freeware program that will allow me to edit and create my clips with menus, chapters, credits and music, then burn them to a single layer DVD+R and keep the aspect ratio at 16:9 like WinDVD creator did for my older 640 X 480 mpg clips. I do not have a dual layer burner yet and want to know if this is possible. I realise that my DVDs may be of shorter length but that is not a problem for me. Thanks for any advice anyone can give me in this field

I doubt you will find a freeware that supports all that. You can use all-in-one dvd converters like dvd flick and favc but they have limited editing and menu capabilities.

You could use several free programs to accomplish most stuff like basic editing using avidemux, converting using hcencoder and authoring using gui for dvd author.

If you are willing to buy an app I would try tmpgenc authoring works.

Well after using WinDVD Creator 2.0 i got satisfactory results except that on my 16:9 screen i had bars on the side and top and bottom. If i wide zoom the screen then it fits perfictly but i lose picture quality.
Will tmpgenc authoring works create the movie, menus and chapters without the borders and fit the 16:9 screen without resizing the picture. I am not to crazy about using several different programs yet. I would like to keep it simple for now. Thanks
