  1. A couple of questions -
Is there anyway to preserve the Date/Time stamp following capture and transfer to a DVD or VCD?

I find it difficult to capture large (time wise) digital movies from a camcorder. Most programs tend to lock up. Any suggestions?

    Thank you! :P

  2. if your working with DV/Firewire, the date/time/data code is always stamped on the DV-AVI stream that was transferred to your harddrive. However, placing it on to the video so you can see it when you watch these AVI files is a different story. I don't think there's anything out there that will do just that. My suggestion, is you use your editing software's titling feature, and place a title on the video with the date on it.

I'm assuming you've reached the 4GB limit on your second question. If not, pls provide some more detail to your problem. If you are crossing the 4GB limit, you might want to use a capture software that allows for 'seamless captures', or better yet, consider upgrading to an OS that works with NTFS (XP, W2K).

In regards to your second question, I also suggest you do a search here, as you'll probably get tons of threads about that.

    hope this helps.

  3. Jtor - Thank you for the response. It was helpful.

I think my problem is the 4Gb on long tapes. I do use xp, does it not care about the 4Gb limit?

  4. XP can get you around the 4GB limit, if the drive you're using is an NTFS partitioned drive. If it's still FAT32, then you need to make the switch to NTFS.

Out of curiosity, how did you get the video files to your PC (what software did you use)?
