  1. OK, I have burnt many a VCD in the past with no problem using smartripper, dvd2avi, TMPGenc and then burning with Ulead Video Studio 6. The VCD's played fine in my old Samsung 709 player, I then bought a new DVD player which plays all my old VCD's fine. When I try to make a VCD now the first 40-45 mins play fine on the DVD player then I get lots of distortion. I am using the same media I always use and the .dat file plays flawlessly on my PC, so what is wrong, any suggestions are welcome as I just can't figure it out, I've tried different media and 3 different versions of TMPGenc all with the same results?????
    I dunno...it might work

  2. Maybe you should try burning at a slower speed...you could also try switching to a different program or burning a different way...creating an imgae, etc. I really don't know what else to tell you..hope it helps...

  3. Did you check for your player in the DVD players section? If anybody else has had problems I am sure they will be listed there. Are you creating regular VCD's or XVCD's? If XVCD, maybe the bitrate is too high for the new player.

    Hope you solve your problem.

  5. OK, its getting weirder, the new rips work fine on my brothers DVD player, so this seems to suggest that my new player is the problem, BUT it plays all my old rips fine?
    I dunno...it might work
