  1. 1) Most of the time when I use TMPEnc (80%) I get some kind of error in the encoding process regardless of what I use

I always get one of two errors

Read Error ocurred at address 0049EECD of Module 'TMPGEnc.exe' with 00D4AFF4

    or

    Illegal Floating Point Decimal Calculation

I will say though that I am d/ling stuff and surfing the net when I encode, however if you see my PC Specs you'll know the PC is strong enough to handle it...could that be the cause?

How can I solve this? I'm using TMPGEnc Plus Edition...

    -----------

Here is my second problem. I have a Divx (approx 182 megs which turns into about 24 minutes long) in 640*480 and I'm trying to sample around to get to TMPEnc. One of the things i'm doing is encoding small parts at a time vs an entire movie on a Cd-RW and mess with the settings.
Obviously I'm new to video encoding (though not Pcs themselves..I build them in my spare time)

Yet whenever I try to encode in SVCD (480*480) and it works(read problem above) the file always comes out in 640*480...NOT 480*480.

    Any way to solve this?

    Thanks!

  2. I found something interesting...

I decided to solve the 640*480 problem to go into Virtual Dub and extract the video and apply a filter tehre (since Virtual Dub NEVER crashes on me)

so I did it and changed it to 480*480

I encoded it agian (abiet only 3 minutes instead of the entire thing) and it CHANGED IT to 640*480 even though I specifically stated 480*480

    Odd
