I've got 25 Gigs of HDD eaten up right now due to a buncha vcd mpegs on it. Can I just burn a copy of the vcd I already have, or is it best to burn right from the original source?

Yes, you can just use the CD Copy function of your burning software. I think it would be a little safer to burn from the original files. That way, if somehow the CDs you already made have developed minor errors, or something else that may cause some sort of degradation, you are not copying those errors to the new CDs.
I personally always make two copies of all video type CDs I create. One is for my regular use, the other is stored away in a "master" binder, only to be used if the first one goes bad. -

Best decision still would be to use CloneCD, which does an exact bit-by-bit copy : your copied cd's will look exactly like the originals.
