I can't make an exact copy of a DVDR. Suggestions would be appreciated. Please consider - I recently switched from many years of using a PC, with much help from videohelp for a few projects thanks, and am now using a Mac because I wanted to use Logic for audio projects.
Using : Toast 10 Titanium on a Mac Pro , OS 10.6
Goal: I'm trying to copy a DVDR that has the regular "AUDIO_TS" & "VIDEO_TS" folders and another "XTRAS" folder with text & cover art. I would like the copy to play like the original.
Results: When I use the DVD copy function of Toast the copy doesn't have the "XTRAS" folder but it plays okay. This appears to be in UDF format like the original.
When I use the "DATA" function to burn the 3 folders from a temporary folder on the hard drive all 3 folders & contents are on the copy but the DVD doesn't play on the Mac. It plays okay on a PC. This copy appears to be CDFS file system.
Bottom Line Question: How do you use Toast to copy a DVD with more than the 2 normal folders ?

Use the Data function AND set the DVD-ROM (UDF) option. Then burn the 3 folders. That should do it.

That works, thanks. That gives me a DVD that does what I want it to do but I'm wondering if it's an exact copy.
When I do a "get info" on the Mac or "properties" on a PC the byte count doesn't match the original.
original : on PC is 2,479,812,608 bytes , on Mac is 2,480,351,232 bytes
copy : on PC is 2,480,439,296 bytes , on Mac is 2,479,882,240 bytes. The size of the folder is the same on both.

If it has the same content, and plays the same way, does it matter ?
If you want an exact copy, use a burning program that will allow you to make an ISO image of the original DVD, then burn that to a new disc. They will be bit for bit identical.Read my blog here.
