dvd ripping problems

i rip a dvd...and for about 90 percent of the movie it's ok...but every once in a while i get like...a discolored blockiness...or an artifacting...it's really annoying because i can't rip anything...it does this with just about every dvd i try to rip...i set my dvd rom for lowest speed so as not to have it get messed up with high speeds...i even switched ide cables....and i've tried every single dvd ripper known to man, i'm using xp, and i suspect it's a problem with xp, i never had this problem with win2k....but no matter what i do it still gets messed up...please help

Are you compressing the ripped Dvd's???, What method are you using??, What Media?,

NO! these are decrypted vob files theat i playback that are messed up...i don't do anyting wiht them after i rip it
