can't be encoding problem..cuz if there was, it'll show up right away. it has to be the media, was there dust, dirt, scratches on it???
did you store it in a CD case or sleeves? -
VCDs and SVCDs have less error recovery data than CD-ROM and DVD, which means they are more susceptible (sp?) to data loss. Remedies:
1.) Use name brand media; if you have problems with one brand try another.
2.) Burn at slowest setting your burner allows; no more than 4x speed. If you're erasing CD-RWs, do this at 4x speed too.
3.) Use a decent burner.
4.) preferably use 650MB media; the larger the capacity, the higher the effect of little scratches.
5.) Don't remove the empty CDs from their packages until immediatly before you burn them; never touch the recording surface, or lay it down on anything, before burning.
6.) Store the burned CDs away from sources of heat, light, moisture, and excessive cold - don't put them on the radiator, in a parked car in the sun, etc.
If the deterioraten comes only with the number of times played, not with storage duration, maybe somthing's wrong in your drive which scratches the disk, applies too strong a laser beam, or whatever.
Hope this helps.--
