  1. This is the message i get:

VirtualBub had detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 21183 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder. (bitrate: 116.9 ~ 15.6 kbps)

I have this with DVDrips that i download from emule / edonkey / or a ftp server.

I don't know what to do anymore. When i just ignore the message my synchronisation will be a mess..

    Please help me

    Greetings,
    Sebastiaan

  2. this is what i did to make a svcd open avi in virtualdub put audio on full processing, smpling rate to 44100, high quality, leave rest. open compression make sure pcm is highlited usually its first. close up compression and click file, save wave, name it something, wait till done.
combine original video with new wav in tmpg. presto all is right.

  4. Easy - Just select the avi file for video & wav file for audio

  5. hey i get the same message from VDub.....but the #s are different....mine say 190 ± 19.9 and others...and the skew #s are higher......so assuming i scan the file for bad sectors in the stream(which i'm sure we have to do, before even doing the audio processing right?), then after doing the audio thing, there will be no problem with the audio/video sync? i mean once i strip the WAV from the avi, and then encode with TmpgE, there will be no probs with the sync?

so i guess this is what to do : 1. load the vid file 2. when VBR message comes up, click OK 3. do the video scan for errors 4. save the WAV. 5. encode with TmpgE

i understand what to do, but i guess its throwing me off some by not putting in that extra step.....so all said and done, are you all sure there will be no sync probs after all this is done?

  6. You can never be sure of anything, but if you follow the steps in the guide it should work fine. The only way to be absolutely sure is to try it and see. The amount of skew does not matter.

Try it, if you still have problems come back.

  8. In that case you probrably have a file with 5 channel ac3 audio. Click on file->file information. Does it say the audio has 5 channels. If so, follow this guide.
