  1. Hi all, and thanks in advance!

I have several video tapes that I would like to transfer to my computer. 1) I'd like to have them in big files (original) on my HD to start.
    2) I'd like to have a decent program where I can edit these files into small movies.
    3) I'd like to be able to fit about 1-2 hours onto one CD (kind of like a DIVX) to playback on PC.
    4) I'd like to be able to play them on my DVD player. (as in VCD)

I've tried Windows Movie Maker, but the files are small and the quality is BAD!!! I've also tried Premiere...which makes the files MASSIVE for such a short time. Does anyone know of a good program that will help me make these files into a decent size, and relatively good quality with ease? How about getting it into VCD? Perhaps some editing capabilities? If any of you have a set way in which you do some of my steps above, please let me know! I have an AverTV Studio, and Clairtone DVD. Thank you! Side note - how the heck do you find Album covers for music cd's? Any good places?

  2. i dont know if this really helps you, but what i do is capture small bits and edit them, and when i'm done put all the parts together. tmpge can cut parts, put parts together (but the audio is always out of sync for me so i use other progams) and make movies ready for vcd burning
