Hey guys, after months of reading i finally found out how to backup my DVD's. One one of my dvds, stigmata, when i reencoded with tmpeg, when i play it, the color jumps from light to darker every few seconds when i watch it on the burnt dvd , anyone know why this is ? Thanks
Aden

It sounds like the sort of problem you get with Macrovison, especially when using a projector or plasma, or when the DVD player's output is going through something else on the way to your TV (my DVD player exhibits this if I run it through my Sky digibox, but when it goes straight to the TV - as it should be ! - it behaves itself. It also does it if it goes through my VCR, looks like the timebase is slightly off somewhere).
I take it the original plays OK ? If so then chances are it's not Macrovision, but I'd suggest doing your backup again making sure when you rip it you've selected the checkbox that removes the Macrovision flag and see if that behaves any better.
I'm grabbing at straws but it might be worth a go.
