[b]tmpge audio not recognized[/b]

hey ive tried several things already to correct this problem im having. When i load a divx.avi file as the video in tmpge, the file will load and be converted properly to a mpg yet the audio from the mivie will not load. I have also tried extracting the audio from virtual dub and loading it as a wav in tmpg which did work except the audio was not in sync with the video. Is there any other way to convert a divx file to mpg then split it to be burned as a vcd or svcd? Any help would be much appreciated.

ive dloaded the latest nimo codec build 8 and it now loaded the avi as a souirce for audio. I m converting the movie to mpg now but I hope that the audio and video will be in sync

It converted to mpg but no audio was incorporated even though it selected the avi file as the audio source.
