can anyone tell me why i am only suceeding in importing 24 of the 50 chapters from star wars attack of the clones.i have checked they have been saved correctly with chapter extracter but every time i import them into dvd maestro it says 24 entry points,so i end up with a film that is only half chaptered.also i noticed when bringing in a subtitle into the film it is only allowing less than half the subs to be added.

I get exactly the same problem on some other movies. Do you use dvd decrypter? the only link i can think of is this has started happening since i upgraded to the latest version. I normally use the output .chp file from dvd decrypter, but i even tried using chapter extracter and the same thing happend.
What im doing now is opening the .chp file in notepad, and then setting the chapter points manually, a pain in the butt so if anyone has any clues to the problem id much appreciate it! -
i read its to do with the default time code start on cine craft encoder but how can it be fixed and can adjustments be made in maestro to avoid a complete re encoding.
-
how do you put the chapters in manually.excuse my ignorance but i've only got my dvd writer in the last week.

CCE defalts to 1 hour start of time code -- you have to change it first frame = 00:00:00:01 or 00:00:00;01 DF (00:00:00:00 is reserved in CCE - though in fact that would be the true correct setting) ...
you can also change the time line in maestro to 0 based if you have it already encoded .. right click on time in maestro next to the time line and change it to 0 based instead of asset based . THEN import your chapters ..
another way is to simply add 1 hour to each of your chapters in your list (1 hour offset -- i.e. 00:02:21;10 would be 01:02:21;10 instead) -
to add chapters manually is covered in great depth in the manual and help files or your dealer im sure can help you ..... basicly you click above the time readout line and add a chapter .. you can adjust it to the nearest I frame and name it .. or designate it to hold on a I frame
-
tried the time line but absolutely no joy at all,but i did suceed in adding them by addind 3600000 in the offset box in chapter xtractor(the box next to last chapter bug fix) and then saved it to a maestro file as usual.

if you import more than 1 video clip into maestro movie line .. it will always use the timecode of the first clip internally no mater what you set the time line at ..
if you highlight all video clips in maestro and right click - you can export the entire mpeg as one file which resets the headers ..
you can trim mpeg files in maestro also to aid in sync next clip audio .. go to end of clip you want to trim and your cursor changes shape , click and drag back towards the begining .. if you export , these trims are kept .. -
thanks for the help but just one more question.i'm using dvd2svcd to create the mpv and ac3 files does anyone know can i re set the cce time code while using that.

I got the solution:
I went into the same problem , i couldn't understand why chapters and sub were all messed up ....and only partially imported .....
well .... I had the VIDEO TIME OFFSET not at 00.00.00.00.
You can find it in the movie window of MAESTRO below the WALL CLOCK:
'wall clock'
'00.00.00.00.'
*here*
just before the movie timeline...
click on it and set all to '00.00.00.00'
import your subtitles and they're ok !!
try import your chapters ... if they don't edit the .chp file adding 1h to all chapters .... for this time .....
hope to be usefull ...
bye..... Don' t take any shit from anybody ..... -
... I think i solved the problem about the Chapters:
Do the following in sequence:
-Import Your VIDEO in the Video time line in MAESTRO.
-Look at the Video TIMEstamp OFFSET (under the WALL CLOCK) and note
down the time it shows : i.e 00.59.58.00
-Use Chapter Xtractor to exctract chapters from the IFO file ... but before
opening the ifo set the OFFSET with the value in MS of the TIMESTAMP
OFFSET you read in MAESTRO (ie : 00.59.58.00 = (1000*58)+
(59*1000*60) ms -> 3598000ms)
-Now open the IFO and save the Chapters as CHP MAESTRO.
-Import the CHAPTERLIST and IT' S OK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good Work !!..... Don' t take any shit from anybody ..... -
thats what i said -- yes it will fix .. or fix in your encoding ... by fixing it in your encoding and if you use origanl ac3 file (which was most likely enocding wiht a hardware encoder) -- the time code stamps on the ac3 file and the mpeg file will match .. which maestro uses to sync up audio and video ..
-
PAY ATTENTION....
I' didn't encoded the movie ...
I just ripped VIDEO and AUDIO and imported into maestro ....
The OFFSET was originally set this way (It's not a result of encoding)....
Now Chapters are OK ...(see my previous post)
I still have problems with subtitles ......
I had to Subtract time .... when imported with subRIP ...
To fix the Sync .....
(I'm doing a backup of WIZARD OF OZ ... region 2 .... I' haven't seen such a complicate DVD structure .....)
......... Don' t take any shit from anybody ..... -
can the forced subtitles that are for example in "star wars attack of the clones" be added into dvd maestro if dvd2svd is used to create the files and if so where do they go?are they also put into the video file part of dvd maestro
